Playgroup Curriculum
The Playgroup curriculum is child led using a combination of High/scope and play based pedagogy within the Aistear curriculum Framework. Our curriculum is about building children’s confidence, their sense of belonging, how they see the world around them. Creating a love of learning through play and inquiry that they will carry with them into school.
A play based curriculum is best suited to children’s developmental needs in Early Childhood Care and Education.
This type of curriculum is called emergent because it evolves as choices and connections are made by the children as they discover the world around them. It is based on children’s interests, questions and experiences, as starting points for curriculum planning, to create a relevant, meaningful and stimulating curriculum for all children. In partnership with children, educators identify ideas or inquiries that become the focus for learning.
